Human Biology BSc

Human Biology is a rapidly expanding area encompassing a wide range of disciplines. It provides a fundamental basis for all studies in the health and allied health professions. This course provides a broad-based degree in human biology while allowing specialisations in aspects of applied human structure and function. Graduates from this degree are able to access and critically evaluate scientific literature and are competent communicators in written and oral presentations. The course emphasises the development of problem solving skills in a collaborative environment. Graduates can apply for entry into a growing number of graduate programs including biomedical sciences, clinical audiology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, public health and education. Completion also provides the necessary pre-requisites for entry into graduate chiropractic programs and graduate medical school.

Human Biology Pre-Clinical BSc

Human Biology is a rapidly expanding area encompassing a wide range of disciplines. It provides a fundamental basis for all studies in the health and allied health professions. The Bachelor of Science (Human Biology Preclinical) provides a broadly based science degree aimed at preparing students for the prerequisite examinations for entry into graduate medical schools. Graduates also qualify to continue their studies at a postgraduate level in a broad range of health professions. This degree program offers an excellent grounding in the preclinical medical sciences allowing specialisations in aspects of applied human structure and function. It is structured to allow some flexibility in the choice of units of study. Graduates from this degree are able to access and critically evaluate scientific literature and are competent communicators in written and oral presentations. The course emphasises the development of problem solving skills in a collaborative environment.
